Kitchen’In: cocoa-date smoothie
You know that feeling when something you have at a restaurant is so good it inspires you to DIY it at home? That’s exactly how this Cocoa-Date Smoothie came to be. Kristen gets all the credit for turning me onto it last summer while we grabbed a bite to eat at Aux Vivres. After ordering it on the go this past weekend and being re-acquainted with how tastyyyyy it is, I couldn’t resist putting the fresh Medjool dates I’d picked up last week to good use.
1 cup (Earth’s Own) almond milk
1/4 cup coconut milk
Handful fresh dates, pitted
1 Tsp Chia Seeds (Aux Vivres makes theirs with Flaxseed protein but I didn’t have any on hand #substitution)
1 Tsp cocoa
Toss all the ingredients into a blender– start with the liquids first. Add ice and blend until smooth.
